So I’m in the box committee as well as the PR of the communications team. The box committee is basically well, simply put, to paint boxes to display our works. Thing is, our theme is Spectrum of design so we need 40 boxes, each of a different colour representing one person. Good thing’s that the boxes are almost done. But it’s labour intensive to have to move everything to the Design Space and decide how to maximize the use of space.

The PR’s a little more complicated. I’m the face voice of the team. Calling up people to ask them to sponsor our year book (compilation of works in a printed form), inviting guests to our event. And invitation might sound easy, but my in-charge says we need 3 waves. Once to send the teaser to get them excited, once to send the poster to show the main details, and once to invite-invite them, be it through phone calls or emails.

Of course, I shouldn’t be up so late but I think this place is forming cobwebs. Oh did I also mention I have to send my online portfolio? Marcus (lecturer) gave me till tomorrow morning, but I plan to do it when I wake up, avoiding him by not going to school. Since I found out I’m not the only one who hasn’t uploaded the things.

Wow, thinking of all these is started to make me feel a wee bit stressed.

Oh yea, also helping my plus one to do his summer holiday project, but we have to do it secretly in school because he’s not supposed to be in the workshop. And he can’t operate machinery either.

After this Dip show wave, I’m going to help mom set up a booth and an online website for her future business. I’m excited for her but at the same time worried. Who wouldn’t be when your parents have tried so many times to start a business? The worrying is not helpful in motivating me to help her. But of course, I’ll be paid. I’ll be a designer with a diploma by the end of April. (if all goes well).

If we run out of things to sell, I’m considering working at Scruffy’s. Where da jie is currently holding a part-time job. The people and the environment seems nice. But I guess prayer is more important.

Alright, enough with my ranting, says my left eye.

My name is Cheris Lee from PID year 3, the girl you met at the carpark earlier at night behind the workshop.

I seek your understanding for creating the mess outside the workshop. There was an unfortunate sequence of events that I will explain further in this email.

After consulting my lecturers, course manager and workshop technicians, I realised that plaster of paris is my best solution to create a mould, which is highly important for my model-making.

Initially I started mixing the plaster in the workshop, however I was afraid that it will be difficult to clear up later, so I brought the plaster out to the carpark area. Problems started surfacing as my fellow coursemate asked if I added wax before the layer of plaster, which I did not. Without that layer of wax, he said that it would be impossible to remove out of my expensive shell. This brought me and my friends into panic, so we took a hammer and tried to break the plaster. The hammering caused the pieces of plaster to fly around uncontrollably. Also, after 2 rounds of mixing plaster with water, the powder-form plaster started to fly around due to the wind. Layers of plaster clogged up on the roadside as we mixed 7-8 buckets of plaster. At first, I was not worried about the washing up because the plaster is water-soluable.

However, after the workshop closed, my friends and I, 10 of us altogether, stayed 1.5 hours to scrub, scrap and wash away the plaster. The remaining was difficult to tackle as the plaster formed in the gaps on the uneven road. Despite the difficulty, there is a high chance for the plaster to be forced out with a pressure hose.

I am very apologetic of the situation, I hope you understand that we have tried very hard to clean the mess. I have attached a few pictures below to show of the situation. Once again, I am sorry.

How can I quickly attain my diploma?
What will I do after I’ve attained it?
Will it be working or studying for me?
What will I be working as?
What do I really want to study?
Do I have confidence I will do well for it?

Will I keep serving in the Mandarin Youth Ministry?
If so, what role will I choose this time?
If not, where does God want me to serve?
English Ministry? A different church altogether?

I know we are all worried/anxious about the future.
But really, I will just keep praying for a direction.
And maybe this time God will show me divine interventions I’ve so often heard about.
And it excites me, how this experience would be if it does happen.
Or how disappointed and lost I will be if it doesn’t.

I believe in white and black areas.
But I also understand the existence of grey areas.
